Job Description:
- Understand the school’s requirement for curriculum development in accordance to the school’s directives.
- Plan, prepare and deliver schemes of work and weekly lesson plans that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class and differentiate instruction.
- Adapt Mathematics curriculum for individual, small group, and remedial instruction to meet the needs of identified students or subgroups of students.
- Regularly evaluate the academic and social growth of students.
- Regularly evaluate student progress and the ability to meet course standards in Mathematical knowledge and skills.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior.Employ a variety of methodologies in teaching and instructing pupils, including demonstrations, discussions, modelling and project-based learning to engage and gain interest of students.
- Preparing classroom and coursework materials, homework assignments, and handouts.
- Recording and maintain accurate student attendance records and grades.
- Maintaining discipline in the classroom and handle behavior problems by employing tact and classroom rules to ensure that each student understands the need for following acceptable behavior rules
- Creating a vibrant teaching atmosphere
- Manage to present group or individual reports/comments on academic and non-academic performance for students, whenever requested.
- Collaborate with other instructional professionals such as Head of Math intervention, teaching assistants/co-teachers to ensure provision of exceptional education.
- Counsel distressed students to help them achieve their academic goals.
- Respond to emergency situations by employing knowledge of First Aid and CPR
- Supervise students during classroom, breaks, ASA and extracurricular activities to ensure their physical and emotional wellbeing.
- Help lay a foundation in Math that prepares students for more complex courses in Middle school.
- Design Math lessons plans, teach the materials, administer quizzes and tests, grade student work and keep record of students' scores for submission of final grades at the term's end.
- May be called upon to act as proctors of study/exam sessions and supervisors for school functions or field trips.
- Participate in ASA (After School Activities)
