Design Engineer

The Design Engineer will be responsible for the preparation, verification, and optimization of design calculations and engineering drawings as per project specifications, codes, and guidelines. The role involves ensuring the quality of designs, supervision of fabrication and construction activities, and proposing cost-effective technical solutions.

1. Study project inputs and identify discrepancies, reporting them to the Lead Engineer with detailed explanations.
2. Prepare design calculations according to project specifications, codes, and design guidelines.
3. Create connection designs and sketches for given loads.
4. Verify engineering drawings to ensure correct interpretation of design details.
5. Develop spreadsheets for repetitive calculations and validate them with manual computations.
6. Propose alternative, cost-effective technical solutions and recommend suitable construction materials.
7. Supervise construction and fabrication activities through random site/yard visits and document observations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering (preferred).

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of design experience.
• Knowledge of fabrication and erection activities.
