Job Title: Structural Engineer – R&D and Innovation Team

Location: Chennai

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our R&D and Innovation team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in Structural Engineering from a recognized institution (preferably Government Colleges, NITs, RECs, or IITs) and at least 3 to 10 years of experience specializing in the design of steel structures. Expertise in software development, particularly using tools like Open STAAD, AutoCAD LISP, and Excel sheets with VBA, is highly valued for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Analysis: Develop and analyze steel structures in compliance with industry standards including AISC, MBMA, and Indian Standards.
• Collaboration: Work with product development teams in pre-engineered building (PEB) companies to innovate and enhance design processes.
• Software Utilization: Utilize Open STAAD for detailed structural analysis and LISP for automation in AutoCAD. Python.
• Tool Development: Create Excel-based tools using VBA to streamline data management and improve engineering workflows.
• Research and Development: Stay abreast of the latest technologies and methodologies in structural engineering for continuous improvement.
• Innovative Contributions: Actively participate in brainstorming sessions, contributing innovative ideas and solutions to enhance product development.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all designs meet rigorous safety and quality standards and adhere to project timelines.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from a recognized institution (preferably Government Colleges, NITs, RECs, or IITs).
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in structural engineering, particularly in steel structures.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Open STAAD, AutoCAD (with LISP), and Excel (with VBA).
• Knowledge of Standards: In-depth knowledge of AISC, MBMA, and Indian Standards.
• Industry Experience: Experience in product development teams within pre-engineered companies is an added advantage.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a keen attention to detail.
