Fertiliser Formulation / Blending Expert

1. Blending Expertise & Grade Development • Lead the technical design, recipe optimization, and scaling of custom and complex NPK/NPS/ Coated Urea fertilizer formulations. • Oversee multi-component solid raw material dosing, micro-nutrient incorporation, and high-precision powder blending operations to ensure homogeneous chemical composition. • Lead product development initiatives and coordinate directly with the operations team to execute grade changeovers smoothly and maintain formulation integrity across batch runs. 2. Process Optimization & Troubleshooting • Diagnose and resolve complex process deviations related to raw material variability, granule growth, screen blinding, caking behavior, and moisture retention. • Implement operational excellence and continuous improvement methodologies to minimize material loss. 3. EHS Compliance & Cross-Functional Leadership • Enforce strict compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and operational risk controls (HAZOP/HAZID). • Direct, train, and mentor production engineers, shift supervisors, and plant operators to build technical capability around blending physics and granulation control. • Coordinate seamlessly with QA/QC to verify mass balance calculations, nutrient guarantees, and physical product specifications before bagging and dispatch.

Qualifications & Requirements • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemistry, Agriculture, or a closely related technical field. • Experience: 10+ years of progressive hands-on experience in fertilizer manufacturing, with demonstrable mastery in solid powder blending and steam granulation processes for NPK/NPS products. • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of mass balance calculations, raw material compatibility, phase diagrams, steam-to-bed thermal dynamics, anti-caking treatments, and fertilizer quality standards. Preferred Skills & Competencies • Recognized expertise in solid-solid and solid-liquid mixing physics, raw material chemistry, and granular product formulation. • Strong plant leadership with a track record of driving operational excellence, high safety standards, and team accountability. • Advanced root-cause problem-solving capabilities in chemical continuous and batch process environments. • Exceptional cross-departmental communication skills to align operations, QA/QC, and maintenance teams.
