Tax Supervisor

Role Responsibilities You will work directly with other Tax Team Podmates and report to your Pod Leader, a Tax Manager or Partner. Your duties include WCG’s general Tax Team responsibilities plus, or as modified by, the following: Role-Specific Duties Preparing complex individual (1040) and business entity (1120S, 1065, 1120) tax returns, starting at roughly 90% preparation and 10% review the first year and moving toward a 30% / 70% split as you gain reps. Delivering tax returns, tax plans, and payroll plans to clients, and signing tax returns on a per-client basis as directed by your Pod leader. Managing roughly 25 to 30 advisory engagements, plus another 25 to 50 tax-only engagements (TOEs) your first, and increasing to 100ish advisory and 150ish TOEs as you work towards being a Client Manager within the promoted role of Senior Tax Supervisor. Preparing tax plans and projections on a similar path, starting prep-heavy and evening out to a roughly 50/50 preparation and review split over time. Discussing tax strategies to reduce taxes and reviewing capitalization, participation and risk. Calculating salary and tax projections, entering shareholder payroll, and reviewing those numbers with clients. Resolving federal and state tax notices and other client issues. Researching complex or unusual tax questions, stress-testing with AI tools and drafting memos and conclusions. Handling the tax onboarding process for new clients and making sure the start is solid. Participating in prospect Discovery Meetings and other business development work alongside the Biz Dev team. General Tax Team Duties

Guiding WCG along the path of success. Promoting WCG culture and encouraging excellence and high team morale. Developing and implementing WCG goals, procedures, and policies in coordination with other Partners, Directors, Managers, and Podmates. Identifying improvement gaps and assisting with deploying corrective measures. Providing feedback, concerns, and recommendations to WCG leadership, including ideas that make the Tax service line better. Coordinating client-centric efforts across teams. Answering client phone calls and emails with professionalism and genuine care. Filing and organizing electronic documents and helping keep the workflow moving. Training and leading fellow Podmates as you gain experience. Other tasks related to tax, accounting, and consultation as requested.
