HSE Officer
Job description
Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.
NEBOSH IGC mandatory, or an equivalent recognised HSE qualification.
Minimum 5 years of experience in container terminal operations.
At least 3 years of experience in a Safety Officer / HSE role.
Valid HSE certifications and supporting documents.
Strong knowledge of terminal operations, lifting activities, and hazardous cargo handling.
What you will do
- Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and controls during terminal operations.
- Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and HSE audits.
- Ensure compliance with QatarEnergy requirements, local regulations, and international HSE standards.
- Support vessel operations, RTG movements, lifting activities, and hazardous cargo handling.
- Monitor high-risk activities and Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems to ensure safe execution of work.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain HSE documentation, including JSA, risk assessments, permits, site inspection reports, checklists, and training records.
- Ensure compliance with applicable SC-LAS, MARPOL, and IMDG codes.
