Sourcing & Procurement Executive — China
Job description
- Practical experience sourcing directly from Chinese manufacturers.
- Strong Mandarin and English communication skills; Hindi or Gujarati is an advantage.
- Knowledge of textiles, garment accessories, label manufacturing materials, or related machinery
preferred.
- Strong negotiation, costing, supplier assessment, and relationship management skills.
- Understanding of international purchasing, Incoterms, and export documentation.
- Proficiency in Excel and purchase tracking.
- Ability to work independently in China and travel regularly.
- High standards of integrity, confidentiality, and transparent purchasing practices.
What you will do
- Identify and develop reliable Chinese manufacturers for yarns, woven label materials, heat transfer
- materials, silicone and PVC label materials, machinery, and spare parts.
- Source new products, technologies, and cost-saving alternatives based on company requirements.
- Obtain quotations and compare pricing, quality, minimum order quantities, payment terms, and
- delivery schedules.
- Visit factories to verify manufacturing capabilities and assess supplier reliability.
- Negotiate prices, commercial terms, and delivery commitments.
- Arrange samples and coordinate technical evaluation and approval with the India team.
- Issue and follow up on approved purchase orders, tracking production through dispatch.
- Coordinate inspections and resolve quality concerns, shortages, and supplier claims.
- Work with freight forwarders and the India import team on shipment consolidation and shipping
- documents.
- Attend relevant trade fairs and maintain an updated supplier database.
- Submit regular reports covering sourcing progress, savings, pending orders, quality issues, and
- shipment status.
