Maternity Doctor
Job description
- MBBS degree from a recognized medical institution.
- Valid registration with the National Medical Commission or the applicable State Medical Council.
- Relevant experience in maternity and obstetric care.
- A postgraduate qualification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (MD/MS/DNB or equivalent recognized qualification) is preferred or required depending on the clinical responsibilities assigned.

- Good communication and patient-counselling abilities.
- Ability to manage maternity cases and emergencies within the scope of qualifications.
- Professional conduct, empathy, and ethical patient care.
- Ability to work collaboratively with hospital staff.
What you will do
- Provide antenatal care and monitor the health of pregnant women.
- Conduct routine maternity consultations and assess maternal and fetal well-being.
- Manage labour and delivery within the doctor's qualifications and hospital privileges.
- Provide postnatal care to mothers and newborns.
- Identify high-risk pregnancies and arrange appropriate specialist referral when required.
- Handle maternity emergencies and provide timely medical intervention.
- Maintain accurate patient records, medical reports, and treatment documentation.
- Counsel patients and their families on pregnancy care, delivery, nutrition, and postnatal recovery.
- Coordinate with nurses, hospital staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow hospital protocols, medical ethics, infection-control practices, and applicable clinical guidelines.
- Participate in weekly review meetings with the hospital management.
- Remain available for emergency calls on designated holidays, as required by the hospital.
