Senior Light Vehicle Mechanic
Job description
• 10+ years of professional experience in light vehicle repair and maintenance
• ITI/NTC or equivalent automobile technology qualification
• Valid driving license (Category B)
• Strong knowledge of petrol and diesel engines
• Proficiency with vehicle diagnostic equipment and tools
• Knowledge of brakes, suspension, electrical, engine and gearbox systems
• Fluent English communication skills
What you will do
- 1. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in light vehicles
- 2. Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
- 3. Service brake systems, suspension systems, engine components, and gearbox systems
- 4. Perform gearbox repairs, servicing, and replacements
- 5. Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections and testing
- 6. Prepare vehicles for MOT/safety inspections
- 7. Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- 8. Test repaired vehicles to ensure safety and performance standards
- 9. Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies
- 10. Maintain a clean and organized work area
- 11. Communicate with customers regarding repair needs and progress
- 12. Mentor and guide junior mechanics
- 13. Contribute to workshop efficiency and continuous improvement
