Who This Page Is For

Alliance works with employers hiring into roles based in Uganda — companies, NGOs and international organisations recruiting in Kampala, Jinja, Entebbe, Mbarara and across East Africa.

We do not place Ugandan candidates into overseas employment and we are not an external labour recruitment company. If you are looking for work abroad, the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development publishes the register of licensed external recruitment companies, checking that register before engaging anyone is worth doing.

Hiring in Uganda: What Employers Should Know

Kampala is the commercial centre. Corporate headquarters, financial services, the largest concentration of NGO and development sector employers in the country, and the deepest professional talent pool. Competition for senior finance, programme management and technical roles is strongest here.

The Albertine region is where oil and gas hiring happens. Project-driven demand, specialist technical skills in short domestic supply, and local content requirements that shape who you can realistically appoint. Timelines are governed by project phase rather than by sourcing speed.

Jinja, Entebbe and Mbarara serve manufacturing, agro-processing, logistics and tourism. Here the constraint is usually candidate availability rather than cost.

Employment terms. Ugandan employment is governed by the Employment Act 2006, with statutory NSSF contributions and PAYE obligations. Contracts are issued by you as the employer; we make sure candidates understand the terms before they accept, so offers don’t fall over at contract stage.

Regional and multi-country hiring. Employers building East African operations frequently recruit across Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda together. We run those as a single coordinated search rather than four separate ones.

We take the role, reporting line, salary band and start date, and tell you upfront whether the Ugandan market can realistically deliver it at that level and budget.
