Teaching literature, writing, comprehension, etc
- Understand the school’s requirement for curriculum development in accordance to the school’s directives.
- Design, develop and implement English language and literature, annual, weekly and lesson plans. Liaise with the Head of Academics in case of problems pertaining to alignment to standards and/or curriculum.
- Research for teaching resources to build up on concepts and apply them in classroom environments.
- Develop and implement activities to help students understand English language concepts.
- Evaluating a students’ class work and assignments and observe students to determine how well they are performing and assist individual students who may not be performing well.
- Preparing classroom and coursework materials, homework assignments, and handouts.
- Recording and maintain accurate student attendance records and grades.
- Maintaining discipline in the classroom and handle behavior problems by employing tact and classroom rules to ensure that each student understands the need for following acceptable behavior rules.
- Creating a vibrant teaching atmosphere.
- Manage to present group or individual reports/comments on academic and non-academic performance for students, whenever requested.
- Collaborate with other instructional professionals such as Head of LA intervention, teaching assistants/co-teachers to ensure provision of exceptional education.
- Counsel distressed students to help them achieve their academic goals.
- Handle behavior problems by employing tact and classroom rules to ensure that each student understands the need for following acceptable behavior rules.
- Respond to emergency situations by employing knowledge of First Aid and CPR
- Supervise students during classroom, breaks, ASA and extracurricular activities to ensure their physical and emotional wellbeing.
- Participate in ASA (After School Activities)
