Job Description:

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS
d) The dorm parent will have to promptly inform/report to the RESIDENT PRINCIPAL on all
cases of misbehaviour, indiscipline, and sickness of the residents.
e) The dorm parent will be responsible for the health, hygiene and well-being of the students
residing in the boarding which are specifically assigned to them and shall attend to all
matters of health, sickness, diet, sanitation and cleanliness.
f) The dorm parent will Issuing memo to the students for indiscipline.
g) The dorm parent will be responsible for the proper upkeep and maintenance of properties of
the hostel under their charge.
h) The dorm parent will have to work as required by the circumstances at any time of the day
and night.
i) Providing relevant information about the students whenever it is required and offering
appropriate first aid support when needed.
j) Monitor the discipline by taking rounds during coaching classes.
k) Maintain Attendance register regularly, 2 times roll call must be made every day-morning
and night.
l) Follow-up weak students.
m) Handle emergency situation without panic and report to the concerned in charge
immediately.
n) Ability to listen to and establish a rapport with students.
o) Weekly/fortnightly meeting will be held with the management for discussion of the work
being carried out by them for the whole month.
p) The dorm parent are always required to speak in English.
q) The Institute reserves the right to amend or change the Conditions of Service of this post at
any time after consultation with the employee or their representative.

Responsibilities:

1. STUDENT CARE:
a) Act in place of their parents.
b) Waking up and putting them to sleep at the prescribed time.
c) Creating awareness to use dustbins regularly and not to litter the waste anywhere and
everywhere.
d) Discouraging throwing waste outside the windows.
2.HEALTH CARE:
a) Take proper care of sick or injured students in assistance with the Medical Nurse.
b) Knowledge of first aid is a must.
c) School will update the parents about the gravity of illness.
d) Any serious condition should never be neglected, but brought to the notice of the Resident
Principal.

3.STUDY HOURS:
a) Maintain strict discipline during study hours.
b) Study focus, they have to take rounds to see whether the students are studying.
f) Discouraging any movement and group studies during supervised study hours
g) Hold informal meetings with the students and motivate them whenever they are free.
Ensure they do not waste time but study.

4.DINING HALL
a) The dorm parent will keep a watch over the cleanliness and enforce discipline and decorum
in the dining hall and in boarding / dormitory.
b) The dorm parent will Monitor and discourage wastage of food in the dining hall.
c) Insist on standing in queue to procure food.
d) The dorm parent will Ensure that table manners are followed.
e) The dorm parent will not allow students to sit and chat for a long time during the intake of
food, (maintain table manners)
