Hire internationally educated nurses and physicians for Canadian hospitals, long-term care, and community health. We recruit clinicians whose registration route in your province is mapped before they reach your shortlist, so offers turn into start dates. Tell us the role, the province, and the start date, and we return a shortlist with a realistic timeline.
We screen candidates against your facility’s clinical, professional, and employment requirements, including specialty, experience, qualifications, registration pathway, language requirements, salary expectations, and availability. From individual healthcare hires to larger workforce requirements, we help Canadian employers reduce unsuitable profiles and move qualified international clinicians toward registration, interviews, and joining.

International medical recruitment in Canada is the process of hiring nurses, physicians, and other clinicians trained outside Canada into Canadian healthcare roles.
Every province faces shortages, and internationally educated nurses (IENs) and physicians are an established part of the answer. But an international clinician can only start work once they are registered with the relevant provincial regulator, and that process has several stages: credential assessment, language testing, exams or practice assessments, and registration itself.
That is why the right question is not “is this candidate good?” but “can this candidate be registered in our province, and when?” A shortlist that ignores registration looks strong and then stalls for months.
Our role is to find and screen clinicians, check their registration pathway, and support you and the candidate through to their first shift. We are paid by employers. We never charge candidates a fee. Immigration steps are handled by licensed immigration professionals, not by us.
We place clinicians in permanent roles only. For wider Canadian hiring, see our Canada recruitment agency page.
International clinical hires are rarely lost at interview. They are lost afterwards, in registration steps that take longer than anyone planned, while the candidate takes an offer in another country. So we map each candidate’s registration pathway for your province before shortlisting and give you a realistic start date with every name. It makes shortlists smaller, and start dates real.
What It Costs:
Employers pay a fee per placement, agreed before the search and payable when the clinician starts. Candidates pay nothing at any stage. For cohorts of nurses, we agree a fixed per-placement fee.
How Long It Takes:
Clinicians already registered in Canada: 4 to 8 weeks. Internationally educated nurses completing Canadian registration: commonly 6 to 18 months depending on province, credentials, and exam timing. Physicians: often longer. We give you a timeline for each candidate, not a general promise.
Registered nurses and licensed practical nurses for hospitals, long-term care, and community health, screened on registration readiness.
Family physicians and specialists, including candidates suited to provincial practice-ready assessment routes. See our doctor recruitment practice.
For every candidate, the likely steps and timeline to registration with your provincial regulator.
Groups of nurses recruited against a planned start, sequenced by registration readiness.
Coordination with your team and the candidate from offer to first shift. Immigration steps are handled by licensed professionals.
Every clinician joins your payroll. We do not supply agency nurses, travel nurses or temporary shifts, and we never charge candidates.
We confirm the role, the facility type, the province and the target start date. The province decides the registration route.
Which source markets hold clinicians with credentials that map well to your province’s requirements, and what the realistic timeline looks like.
Direct sourcing, screened on clinical experience, credentials, language test results and registration progress.
Video interviews with your clinical leads, coordinated across time zones.
Offer, registration steps with the regulator, and relocation, with licensed professionals handling immigration.
We check in at 30, 60 and 90 days after the clinician starts. If a placement does not hold within the guarantee period, we re-run the search at no additional fee.
Tell us the specialty, location, licensing requirements, and hiring timeline. We’ll build a focused shortlist of qualified international medical candidates.

Canadian employers who have tried international recruitment before usually describe the same experience. Good candidates were found and offers were accepted, and then months passed while registration steps moved slowly and nobody could say when anyone would start. Some candidates gave up and went elsewhere.
So we plan the registration route before we shortlist and give a realistic timeline for every candidate. It means fewer names on the list, and it means the employer knows what to expect. We also say plainly that candidates never pay us, which matters to regulators and to the nurses themselves.
We needed to recruit qualified medical professionals from outside Canada and wanted a team that understood the additional requirements involved. Alliance helped us identify suitable candidates and kept the process organised from sourcing through interviews. Their communication was consistent and made the international hiring process much easier.
Finding experienced healthcare professionals internationally was taking more time than our internal team could manage. Alliance understood the positions we needed to fill and provided relevant candidates for review. We appreciated the structured process and regular updates throughout the recruitment.
We approached Alliance for support with international medical recruitment in Canada and were impressed by how closely they followed our requirements. The team helped us navigate candidate screening and kept us informed at each stage. The candidates presented had relevant clinical backgrounds and experience.
