R&D Manager

Key Responsibilities

1. Research Strategy and Planning:

   • Lead application research to develop new chemistries for innovative products.
   • Coordinate with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
   • Emphasize transparent, critical, and analytical thinking, teamwork, and collaboration.
   • Prioritize troubleshooting to overcome research challenges.
   • Identify and explore new research areas for flame retardants, anti-microbial additives, and preservative solutions.

2. Project Management:

   • Define project milestones, deliverables, and success criteria.
   • Conduct regular progress reviews and provide guidance to the research team to address obstacles and optimize outcomes.

3. Team Leadership:

   • Facilitate skill development and training opportunities to enhance the team's capabilities.
   • Encourage creativity and out-of-the-box thinking to drive breakthrough innovations in the specialty chemicals field.

4. Technical Expertise:

   • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in specialty chemicals, especially in esterification, flame suppression, and antimicrobial coatings.
   • Apply relevant knowledge to drive projects and maintain technical excellence.

5. Collaboration and Networking:

   • Foster collaborations with external research institutions, universities, and industry partners to leverage expertise and resources for advanced research projects.

6. Regulatory Compliance:

   • Ensure all R&D activities comply with relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
   • Work closely with the regulatory affairs team to secure necessary approvals for new products.

7. Intellectual Property (IP) Management:

   • Protect the company’s intellectual property by encouraging and managing patent applications for novel technologies and innovations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or a related field with a focus on the development of diverse product lines for the specialty chemicals industry.
• Experience: At least 10 years of experience in leading R&D teams within the chemical industry, particularly in specialty chemicals.
• Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements related to chemical research.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using research tools and techniques for product analysis and testing.
