Construction Manager

Job Title: Construction Manager
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Working Hours: 50 hours per week

To oversee and manage construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. The Construction Manager will coordinate and supervise all aspects of the construction process for projects in sectors such as airports, sea ports, highways, or industrial sites.

• Lead and manage the construction site, ensuring that projects are delivered successfully from start to finish.

• Oversee project planning, budgeting, and scheduling to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.

• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders involved in the project.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

• Supervise and manage a team of construction professionals, ensuring high performance and adherence to company policies.

• Report regularly to senior management and clients on project progress, risks, and issues.

• Develop and manage project documentation, including budgets, schedules, and quality control reports.

• Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise on-site.

• Project Management: Oversee all aspects of project execution, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

• Team Leadership: Supervise and lead a team of workers, contractors, and subcontractors, fostering collaboration and ensuring a high level of productivity.

• Budget Management: Ensure the project remains within budget, tracking costs and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.

• Scheduling: Create and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring the project stays on track.

• Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and regulations.

• Risk Management: Identify potential risks to the project and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.

• Stakeholder Management: Maintain positive relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies.

• Problem Solving: Address issues and challenges quickly and effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to the project.

• Essential:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in construction, specifically in at least one of the following sectors: Airports, Sea Ports, Highways, or Industrial Projects.

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, from planning through to execution.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Ability to effectively manage budgets, schedules, and quality control measures.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Preferred:

  • Previous experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.

  • Experience in risk management and problem-solving on large-scale projects.

• Preferred:

  • A degree or professional qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

  • Relevant industry certifications or training in construction safety and project management.

• Ensure all work is conducted in line with the company's health, safety, and environmental policies.

• Promote and enforce a culture of safety on-site, ensuring all workers adhere to health and safety guidelines.

• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and national regulations.

• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Leadership: Ability to lead teams, motivate workers, and make decisions effectively.

• Problem Solving: Ability to identify issues and find effective solutions.

• Time Management: Excellent organizational and time-management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
