Job Title: Foreman
Salary: £36,000 per annum + Overtime (Paid)
Working Hours: 50 hours per week

To oversee and manage day-to-day activities on the construction site, ensuring that all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and deadlines. The Foreman will coordinate the workforce, materials, and machinery on-site for projects in sectors such as airports, sea ports, highways, or industrial environments.

• Supervise and manage a team of workers, ensuring tasks are completed according to safety standards and project specifications.

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the site, ensuring work is progressing according to schedule.

• Coordinate the delivery and use of materials, machinery, and equipment on-site.

• Monitor work quality, ensuring that all work meets the required standards and complies with relevant regulations.

• Report site progress, issues, and any delays to the Site Manager or relevant senior staff.

• Ensure that health and safety regulations are followed and that all team members are trained in site-specific safety protocols.

• Resolve on-site issues and assist in problem-solving to maintain work efficiency.

• Maintain effective communication with other departments, contractors, and clients as needed.

• Conduct tool box talks and safety briefings with the team to ensure awareness of health and safety standards.

• Assist in resource planning, ensuring appropriate personnel, tools, and materials are available on-site.

• Team Supervision: Manage, motivate, and direct the workforce, ensuring tasks are carried out safely, efficiently, and in a timely manner.

• Site Operations: Oversee day-to-day activities on-site, ensuring smooth coordination between workers and activities.

• Quality Control: Ensure all work completed adheres to safety standards, specifications, and regulations.

• Health & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to all health and safety policies, conducting regular safety briefings, and addressing any risks or hazards on-site.

• Problem Solving: Address and resolve on-site issues, including equipment or material shortages, staffing concerns, and task-related problems.

• Material & Equipment Management: Coordinate the timely delivery and use of materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring everything is available as needed.

• Reporting: Provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and safety issues to the Site Manager or senior staff.

• Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant local and national regulations, including environmental standards.

• Essential:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in construction, specifically in at least one of the following sectors: Airports, Sea Ports, Highways, or Industrial Projects.

  • Strong hands-on experience with construction techniques, machinery, and safety protocols.

  • Proven ability to supervise and manage teams, ensuring high productivity and adherence to safety standards.

  • Experience with material handling, machinery operation, and site logistics.

  • Ability to follow project specifications and deadlines.

• Preferred:

  • Experience in a similar supervisory or foreman role in large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards, building codes, and regulations.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage unforeseen issues efficiently.

• Preferred:

  • A relevant qualification in construction, engineering, or a related field.

  • Relevant industry certifications such as CITB, CPCS, or other construction-related training programs.

  • Training in health and safety protocols (e.g., CITB Site Safety Management, IOSH, or SMSTS).

• Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations and the company’s safety policies.

• Promote a culture of safety on-site, ensuring that all workers follow safety procedures and are aware of site risks.

• Participate in accident investigations and reports as necessary.

• Ensure compliance with environmental and waste management guidelines.

• Communication: Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to relay information clearly to the team and management.

• Leadership: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide the team to meet goals.

• Problem Solving: Ability to think quickly and solve problems effectively to maintain the pace of the project.
