Job Location: Barka, Oman (approximately 100 km away from Muscat)

Position Summary:
The Beekeeper will report to the Veterinary (5) and Crop Manager (2). The role involves working in the apiary and managing all bee-related tasks as per Company Policy. The Beekeeper will ensure compliance with Company and Farm policies and Standard Operating Procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain 60 hives initially, with plans to expand to 250.
• Develop new hives by introducing new queens.
• Oversee hives situated over 3 sites, ensuring they are moved as needed.
• Ensure the health of hives, handle harvesting, and provide necessary food and water during the height of summer.
• Produce specialized Sidr honey for 3 months and multifloral honey for the rest of the time.
• Perform honey testing in the on-site laboratory.

Essential Duties:

• Plan and organize honey production.
• Build and maintain beehives.
• Ensure all active hives are kept free from parasites to prevent disease, as per Company policy and instructions.
• Coordinate with the Crop Manager to meet pollination requirements on the farm.
• Maintain all apiary areas to the highest standards as per company protocols.

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide samples for laboratory testing as requested.
• Ensure genetic diversity in the hives and coordinate with other keepers to achieve this.
• Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to the Company Health & Safety Policy.
• Strictly follow biosecurity protocols as per Farm Procedures.
• Support other farm activities and logistics operations as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Diploma in Agriculture or equivalent.

Key Competencies:

• Attention to detail and strong observational skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Effective recording of all events and timings.
