- Monitor and analyze carbon credit prices, market trends, and regulatory changes.
 - Conduct pricing research to identify optimal trading opportunities.
 - Provide insights to management and the BD team to support decision-making in carbon offset projects.
 - Engage with buyers, sellers, and brokers to negotiate and close carbon credit deals.
 - Develop and maintain strong relationships with traders, project developers, and regulatory bodies.
 - Create a network of referral partners, industry associations, and government agencies to aid business development.
 - Tailor solutions to clients’ carbon offset needs in collaboration with sustainability experts.
 - Generate leads from clients with Net Zero targets.
 - Track business performance, processes, and client satisfaction (CSAT).
 - Manage clients' investment portfolios and keep them informed on new investment opportunities in the carbon market.
 - Adjust investment strategies based on market conditions.
 - Ensure deals comply with company goals and regulatory requirements.
 - Oversee the end-to-end trading process for smooth execution of sales and purchases of carbon credits.
 - Ensure all transactions adhere to company policies, compliance standards, and industry regulations.
 - Collaborate with finance, legal, and compliance teams to finalize contracts and manage counterparty risks.
 - Manage contractual documentation, reporting, and compliance filings for carbon trading.
 - Maintain detailed records of trades, agreements, and regulatory submissions.
 - Stay updated with sustainability and environmental market mechanisms.
 - Possess expertise in environmental markets, particularly voluntary carbon markets.
 - Understand nature-based solutions and the market dynamics, including price implications.
 - Stay informed on Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) and International Renewable Energy Certificates (I-RECs).
 - Participate in industry events for market insights and networking.
 - Apply knowledge of carbon emissions reduction verification methodologies and standards.
 - Work collaboratively within a dynamic team to build a commercial pipeline.
 
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Technology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
 - Experience: 8-12 years of relevant experience in carbon trading or environmental markets, with a strong understanding of carbon pricing, trading strategies, and regulatory frameworks.
 - Skills:
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
 - Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple activities.
 - Expertise in financial modeling, risk management tools, and trading platforms.
 - Proficiency in statistical and digital tools for carbon market analysis.
 - In-depth understanding of voluntary and compliance carbon markets, including RECs and I-RECs.
 - Ability to manage client-facing conversations and negotiate deals.
 - Familiarity with contract documentation, compliance, and regulatory filings.
