Position Overview: The Design Head will lead and oversee all aspects of the design process, from initial concept development through to final execution. The role involves strategic decision-making, innovation, coordination with multiple stakeholders, and ensuring adherence to quality, budget, and timelines.

Strategic Focus:

• Lead and participate in the Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Document phases, providing real-time cost feedback to Development Project Managers.
• Attend design meetings to assess coordination, constructability, value engineering, and completeness of plans.
• Prepare pricing for value engineering options, alternative methods, materials, and systems, adjusting budgets as needed.
• Incorporate innovative design solutions to reflect new trends and customer preferences.

Operational Focus:

• Monitor design progress for adherence to approved budgets, schedules, and quality standards, reporting any material variances.
• Review construction plans prepared by contractors with a focus on safety, logistics, and execution requirements, capturing necessary costs.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and production teams to design various precast products and review shop drawings for compliance.
• Liaise with clients to develop and finalize scope documents and provide expert advice on architectural matters, including space planning, statutory compliance, and technical issues.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements and prepare the Client Design Brief.
• Review deliverables from Design Consultants for compliance with statutory codes, design briefs, and client requirements.
• Provide technical advice during the contractor appointment and tender review process, including evaluating submissions and shop drawings.
• Monitor fabrication quality, both on-site and off-site, from an architectural perspective.
• Collaborate with the project team on cost, time constraints, and solutions, and prepare detailed architectural design packages.
• Partner with the procurement team to secure services and products for capital projects.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• At least 20 years of relevant professional experience in design and project execution.
• Strong understanding of local statutory codes and experience with submission/application procedures.
• High level of creativity, sound design sense, and strong 3-dimensional awareness.
• Proficient communication skills, with the ability to visualize and convey design concepts effectively.
• Proficient in design software including AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Photoshop.
• Demonstrated experience in managing capital budgets and implementing critical systems and building infrastructure.
• Capable of handling multiple projects concurrently with strong organizational skills.
